Summer 2003

This is our nephew Colton, age
8, riding "Roy". Roy is a great, seasoned
8 year old Quarter Horse. We frequently borrow
him from a great friend of the family &
riding companion, Virgil Crowder. Virgil, who
also introduced us to the Trail Riding phenomenon.

|
Sherri with her 5 yr old mustang
gelding "Roscoe" and Virgil's 2 yr
old paint filly "Sugar" started under
saddle by her sister Dianna. This was a Rodeo
outing to Grove, Oklahoma. Part of our training
process is to expose and acclimate our young
or inexperienced horses to all kinds of environments.
Our steeds did an exceptional job. Since there
were many seasoned rodeo equine there that tried
to flee to the mountains during an exhibition
race of ostriches.

July 2003
|
Rick aboard Roy in the Seneca,
Missouri 4th of July 2003 Parade. Riding next
to him was a delightful elderly lady we met.
Her husband who was also riding. Stated that
when she agreed to married him 50 + years ago,
she said all she wanted was a horse, dog and
a car. Still going strong on the horse part.
Gives us great encouragement.

Sherri riding "Roscoe".
With life long friend, and childhood riding
companion Diane from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
On our 2nd trail ride in the Huckleberry Ridge
State Forest. This was a three day weekend trip
to a primitive equine camping facility called
Craigalee in Pineville, Missouri.
